As the new Chair of the Board, I am overwhelmed with gratitude and anticipation for the years ahead. As a member of the Board, I have been humbled to see Opportunity International Canada’s vision come to life to deeply impact a multitude of clients in the developing world. I am thrilled to be part of the continued fulfillment of this legacy driven by faith and a uniting mission to serve the poor.
Before me, Dale Patterson played a crucial role in carrying out Opportunity’s vision for over 20 years, beginning as a founding member of Opportunity International Canada even before its Incorporation. Dale, along with his wife, Joan, have worked tirelessly to fulfill our mission over the years. His contribution served as an integral part of the organization’s history, from speaking across Canada, chairing subcommittees, and caring deeply for his team as a leader. Dale, Joan, and their entire family have extended compassionate hearts and embraced Opportunity Canada’s evolution with a focus on transformation in the lives of our clients worldwide. On behalf of the Board and staff, I am grateful for Dale’s invaluable contribution to the team.
Opportunity International Canada’s new three-year strategic plan ushers in a brand-new season for the organization. Ahead of us are many more years of further enhancing our impact and programs for both new and long-standing partners around the world. It is truly an exciting time for Opportunity Canada and I am thrilled to have been appointed as Chair of the Board. Following Dale, I have some big shoes to fill and I look forward to extending the same level of heart and commitment to our mission.
