Lenore-Dominican-Republic
Lenore, Dominican Republic

Lenore, a single mother, raised her four children alone. To provide for them, she came up with a plan to sell Johnny Cakes to factory workers. Despite concerns from her neighbors, she built a customer base and was eventually asked for empanadas and fruit juice. However, without a refrigerator, she couldn't fulfill customer demand. Fortunately, a friend told her about ASPIRE and the Aspiring Together Women's Groups leasing program.

In 2019, Byron found himself unemployed and turn to ASODENIC for a loan as he was determined to start a business. As his business grew, he pursued further loans to diversify. Today, in addition to groceries, he sells a wide range of products, including bookstore items, hardware, and clothing. Byron's business is thriving and he has more plans to continue to develop it.
