Opportunity MarketDay is our exciting and interactive educational initiative, designed to provide teachers with materials and resources to guide their students through a real entrepreneurial experience while raising awareness about global poverty issues and the struggles faced by the entrepreneurial poor. With flexibility in curriculum and the freedom to set your own timeline, MarketDay offers a unique learning opportunity that can be tailored to suit your classroom’s needs.
By hosting a MarketDay, you will engage your students in an immersive experience where they will form small enterprises, decide on a product or service to market, create business plans, conduct research, and develop budgets. They then produce, promote, and present their offerings in a real market setting.
By participating in MarketDay, students not only learn about microfinance but also about how they can actively contribute to eradicating poverty by empowering other entrepreneurs to build better lives for themselves and their families.
What makes MarketDay truly special is that a portion or all of the net proceeds generated can be donated to Opportunity International Canada. We provide formal acknowledgment of your group’s generosity and updates on the life-changing impact your efforts are making!
