Alleviating poverty in Pakistan

Pakistan is a nation that faces a myriad of challenges and opportunities on its path towards progress and development. Addressing the diverse needs of its people, from poverty alleviation to education, healthcare, and women’s empowerment, is at the forefront of its national agenda. In a nation of 220 million people, just over 24% live below the poverty line. Pakistan has made progress in improving education and literacy rates, but challenges remain.  Particularly in rural and remote areas many children, especially girls, face barriers to attending school due to poverty and cultural norms.
