Meet Carmen

Microfinance Client, Honduras

Carmen-Microfinance-Honduras
Meet Carmen, at 33, she is a mother of two and the owner of a small convenience store. When she first started last year, she sold just chips and cookies, but struggled to meet the growing needs of her customers. With limited inventory, it was hard to keep up, and she often worried about making enough to support her family.

That all changed when she connected with our Honduran partner, IDH. Carmen secured a microloan and invested in fridges and a freezer, expanding her shop to sell cold drinks and meals like burritas and tacos.

Now, her store brings in enough income to not only reinvest in her business, but also provide for her children’s school supplies and put food on the table every day—something she used to worry about constantly.

Carmen’s story shows how access to financial support can turn struggles into success, helping families build brighter futures.
