DORIT GEROV
Philanthropy and Community Engagement Officer

Dorit’s journey with OIC began during a transformative group study in the Dominican Republic, where she witnessed the profound impact of microfinance on empowering individuals, especially women, toward financial independence. This experience reshaped her career aspirations, leading her to seek a role that blends social good with financial sustainability. Joining OIC, her dream organization, has fulfilled that vision.

Dorit graduated from the University of Calgary’s Haskayne School of Business with a Bachelor of Commerce in Business and a Certificate in Leadership Studies. Her experiences have equipped her with skills in leadership, community engagement, event planning, and relationship-building.

At OIC, Dorit manages logistics and sponsorships for fundraising events, develops donor management processes using CRM tools, and leads the Market Day entrepreneurship program in middle schools. She is passionate about creating sustainable social change through microfinance and community-driven initiatives.

Outside of work, Dorit values family and enjoys staying active, being outdoors, cooking, and entertaining. As a member of the Jewish community, she is dedicated to service and aims to contribute meaningfully to the communities that have supported her. She has also been involved in advocacy efforts focused on coalition-building, education, and community outreach.

Dorit is excited to collaborate with colleagues and stakeholders at OIC to empower families toward lives filled with hope, resilience, and purpose.
