DANIEL GENEST, CFRE
VP of Philanthropy
Daniel is a seasoned fundraiser who loves people and, even more so, loves helping them change the world. He has over a decade of experience in the non-profit sector and brings depth and understanding of the philanthropic landscape to OIC’s leadership and organizational direction.
With a passion for serving the poor, Daniel is continually encouraged by the clients he meets around the world. Their hard work, grit, perseverance, and determination fuel his desire to help them change their circumstances. Responding to Jesus’ call to love and serve the poor, Daniel has a desire to see women and children, families and entire communities transformed and provided with better economic prospects, dignity, and hope for the future.
Daniel holds a BA Honours in Linguistics from Concordia University, a Masters of Applied Linguistics and Exegesis from Trinity Western University, and a Graduate Diploma in Philanthropy and Nonprofit Leadership from Carleton University. He is also a Certified Fundraising Executive and a member of the Association of Fundraising Professionals.
He resides in Calgary, Alberta, is the father of two wonderful children, an avid runner, drummer, world traveller, and self-proclaimed coffee connoisseur.
