1. I, acknowledge that I have voluntarily applied to Opportunity International, Inc. (the “Sponsor”) to participate in a trip organized by the Sponsor for the purposes of visiting one or more of the Sponsor’s Partner Agencies in a foreign country or countries, learning how the Sponsor’s programs operate and observing firsthand the impact of these programs on beneficiaries in such countries (an “Insight Trip”). 

2. I am aware that participating in an Insight Trip involves certain hazards, including but not necessarily limited to the hazards inherent in travel in lesser developed countries of the world. I am voluntarily participating in these activities with knowledge of the potential danger involved, and I hereby agree to accept any and all risks of injury, death or loss or destruction of property resulting therefrom. 

3. I further acknowledge that in arranging accommodations for the Insight Trip, including but not limited to air and surface transportation, hotels, restaurants and the like, the Sponsor and any travel agency engaged by the Sponsor are acting as the agent of the undersigned for such purpose and shall not be responsible for nor have any liability as a result of any loss, injury or damage which may be caused as a result of such public accommodation. 

4. As consideration for being permitted by the Sponsor and any of its affiliated organizations to serve as a Participant, I hereby agree that I, my assignees, heirs, distributees, guardians, and legal representatives will not make any claim against, sue, or attach the property of the Sponsor or any of its affiliated organizations or any of their respective officers, agents, directors, employees or representatives (the “Releasees”) for any loss, injury or damage of any kind (“Losses”) resulting from any participation as a Participant, except for Losses caused by the gross negligence or intentional misconduct of the Releasees, or any of them.  I hereby release all of the Releasees from all actions, claims or demands that I, my assignees, heirs, distributees, guardians, and legal representatives now have or may hereafter have for injury or damage resulting from my participation as a Participant, except for actions or claims resulting from the gross negligence or intentional misconduct of the Releases, or any of them. 

5. Photographs taken while participating on any Insight Trip.  I give Opportunity the right to take my picture (photos & video) and publish my name, picture and story in printed and online materials promoting the work of Opportunity International. I agree that the material will not be submitted to me for approval.  I agree to release Opportunity International and their respective officers, directors, employees, subcontractors and agents, and anyone duly authorized by any of them to distribute the photographs and video, from and against any and all claims, costs, liabilities and expenses of any kind which arise from the use of the photos and stories. 

6. Traveller Responsibility. OIC monitors local, regional, and global conditions that may affect travel. However, each traveller remains responsible for making their own informed decision regarding participation in an Insight Trip. Travellers are strongly encouraged to consult appropriate resources before departure, including advice from a qualified medical professional and the Government of Canada’s travel advisories. 7. OIC-Initiated Cancellation. While uncommon, OIC may, at its discretion, cancel an Insight Trip where such action is deemed necessary to safeguard the health, safety, and security of staff and guests. In such circumstances, OIC will arrange for the timely refund of deposits.

8. Traveler-Initiated Cancellation. If a traveller elects to cancel their participation, OIC reserves the right to retain all or a portion of the deposit to recover any costs incurred as a result of the cancellation. Where no cancellation-related costs have been incurred, or where such costs are less than the deposit amount, OIC will issue a full or partial refund, as applicable

9. Costs Incurred by Travellers. OIC strongly recommends that all travellers make flexible travel arrangements, including flights and any related bookings, that may be modified or cancelled if an Insight Trip is cancelled or postponed. OIC shall not be liable for any costs, losses, penalties, fees, or other expenses incurred by a traveller as a result of, or in connection with, the cancellation or postponement of an Insight Trip.

I am at least 18 years old and have the full authority to enter into this agreement without needing additional permission from anyone else
