THE SPEAKER

Tim-Strong-Opportunity

Tim Strong is the Head of Agriculture Finance at Opportunity International, where he leads innovative programs that help small-scale farmers across Africa increase their incomes, improve food security, and build more resilient futures. Passionate about creating opportunities for farming families, Tim has spent more than 20 years living and working in Southern and Eastern Africa, partnering with local communities to develop practical, sustainable solutions that help farmers thrive.

Originally from Northern California, Tim’s background includes work with the U.S. Department of Agriculture, the Peace Corps, the Clinton Foundation, and commercial farms. Today, he lives in Malawi with his family, where he continues to champion innovative approaches that empower farmers—including women—to grow stronger businesses and create lasting change in their communities.
