At Opportunity International Canada, we’ve seen how powerful generosity becomes when it’s shared. That’s why we created Trust Groups—a way for you to gather friends, family, or colleagues and walk together on a shared journey of giving.
Rooted in the same model that’s helped millions of women build businesses through group lending, Trust Groups are about pooling resources, building community, and supporting life-changing projects that address global poverty at its roots.
This isn’t about a single donation. It’s about showing up—together—for something that matters.
How it Works
Trust Groups are small, self-organized circles—typically 5–10 families or individuals—who commit to journeying together in generosity over a two- to three-year period. You decide who’s in the group, what project matter most to you, and how you want to meet.
- Invite your people— Friends, family, colleagues who want to give with meaning.
- Make a collective pledge — Most groups aim for $50,000/year together.
- Gather 2–4 times a year— In person, online, over dinner or coffee.
- Choose your impact — Education, microfinance, women’s empowerment, and more.
- See the change — Get personal updates, reports, and even travel opportunities to visit the communities you support.
