Steps for organizing a
team fundraiser.

How to begin.

As a Walking People Out of Poverty Team Leader, you play a vital role in the success of this event, and we are grateful for your involvement! With every step you take, you’ll be helping hardworking entrepreneurs along their own journey out of poverty.

Below are some simple steps to get you started.

Step 1: Register online

Register online at walkingpeopleoutofpoverty.com. Create a name for your team, upload a picture, set a goal and add a personal message to your fundraiser.

Once registered, you will receive an email with everything you need to get started including a link to recruit team members and start fundraising!

Step 2: Start recruiting

Recruit people to join your team using your unique recruitment link found at the bottom of your Fundraising Dashboard. You can form a team of co-workers, kids, family members, friends, neighbours, classmates, church or small group members, or pretty much anyone you can think of!

Step 3: Decide on the details

Pick an activity, distance, route, and date for your fundraiser. The distance does not matter but we recommend deciding with your team what everyone is comfortable with.

Step 4: Spread the word

Fundraise personally and encourage your team to fundraise too by sharing your donation link with family and friends.

Step 5: Communicate, communicate, communicate!

Communicate regularly with your team and supporters and most imporantly express gratitude for their involvement!
