New Direction in Alberta

It is with mixed emotions that we are announcing a new working relationship with Ed Temple. As most of you know, Ed has had a long history with Opportunity International Canada and staff members as a volunteer first, then as a donor, and then joining our staff as Regional Director in Alberta. Ed has built some significant inroads in Alberta, especially in Edmonton, and has professionalized and streamlined a number of processes for us as well.

Ed has recently made the move to become the new Associate Partner with Tricon Solutions and will be leading their People & Culture line of business. Ed will be transitioning into this new area of responsibility in June 2018.

Although Ed is shifting his career focus, we are excited that he is going to continue to be actively involved with Opportunity International Canada, specifically our Rotary partnership in Alberta and our partnership on the Rotary International front. He is also helping the Rotarians with their Rotary Summit that is focused on Eradicating Ultra Poverty by 2030 and is being held immediately following the annual Rotary Global Conference in Toronto.

We are also pleased that Ed has confirmed that Tricon Solutions will become a corporate partner of Opportunity International Canada, noting us as one of their charities of choice. Tricon and Opportunity International’s values are closely aligned with a people first approach to business and impacting the world. Tricon has been significantly engaged with businesses through their leadership conference called Ignite Summit. Ed is looking forward to developing this important partnership for ongoing transformation in both communities.
Ed’s heart and passion for the work of Opportunity International Canada remains unchanged. On June 20th, Ed will be one of Opportunity’s hosts at THE LEAST OF THESE DOCUMENTARY RELEASE at the Arts Commons in Calgary. He has also committed to remain involved as a mentor and coach to his successor, as needed, for the next number of months.

We hope you will join us in wishing Ed well in this new endeavour and look forward to what we know will continue to be a dynamic relationship moving forward.

If you have any questions about the transition or would like some more information, please contact Doris Olafsen.
