On October 21, 2017, our International Visitors Jim Frantz, from Colombia and Oricel Caminero, from the Dominican Republic, together with newly met friends, shared an insightful afternoon together at the Canadian Museum for Human Rights. As we ascended the walkways together through this magnificent tribute to both the suffering, hope and resilience of humanity on an expertly guided tour, our souls were stretched and further awakened. All agreed that an opportunity for another visit would be welcomed and remarkable.
Guests were invited to attend a family-style dinner hosted by the team at Elevate Eatery during the evening. It was delightful to be able to welcome both those of you who continue to support the work of Opportunity International Canada and those of you who are completely new to the work of the organization. The cozy surroundings encouraged ease of conversation, a delightful dining experience and presentations that expanded awareness of the ongoing initiatives, partnerships, and successes in Latin America.
We are especially thankful for the generous sponsorship of this event by Décor Cabinets of Morden, Manitoba.
We deeply thank all of our guests who engaged with us throughout the day and evening. We are so grateful for your presence and your generosity. This is an exciting time in Manitoba as we work together to renew and expand the presence and mission of Opportunity International Canada in the province. It is my personal privilege to be a part of this. As we look ahead to 2018, I am looking forward to re-connecting, connecting and meeting with each one of you.
